Upgrade of the CMS luminosity instrumentation and the Fast Beam Condition Monitor for HL-LHC / Shevelev, Alexey (Princeton U.) /CMS Collaboration
The high-luminosity upgrade of the LHC (HL-LHC) brings unprecedented requirements for real-time and precision bunch-by-bunch luminosity measurement and beam-induced background monitoring. A key component of the CMS Beam Radiation Instrumentation and Luminosity (BRIL) system is a stand-alone luminometer, the Fast Beam Condition Monitor (FBCM), which is fully independent of the CMS central timing and control distribution, as well as data acquisition services and able to operate at all times with a triggerless readout. The LHCb VELO detector: design, operation and first results / Biolchini, Alice (Nikhef, Amsterdam ; Vrije U., Amsterdam) /LHCb VELO Collaboration
The LHCb detector is a single-arm spectrometer with a pseudorapidity range of 1.80 $< \eta < $ 4.91. The detector includes a high-precision tracking system consisting of a VErtex LOcator detector (VELO) surrounding the interaction region and two more system of trackers, placed upstream and downstream of the dipole magnet. The global electroweak fit in the SM and SMEFT / Fischer, Yannick (Hamburg U.) ; Haller, Johannes (Hamburg U.) ; Hoecker, Andreas (CERN) ; Kogler, Roman (DESY) ; Mönig, Klaus (DESY) ; Stelzer, Jörg (CERN)
We present results from the global electroweak fit to precision measurements of the Standard Model (SM). The fit uses the latest experimental results as well as up-to-date theoretical calculations for observables on the Z pole and the W boson mass, yielding precise SM predictions for the effective weak mixing angle and the masses of the W and Higgs bosons, as well as the top quark. Split-cavity tuning of a rectangular axion haloscope operating around 8.4 GHz / Golm, Jessica (CERN ; Jena U.) ; García-Barceló, Jose María (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Arguedas Cuendis, Sergio (CERN) ; Calatroni, Sergio (CERN) ; Wuensch, Walter (CERN) ; Döbrich, Babette (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
The axion haloscope is the currently most sensitive method to probe the vanishingly small coupling of this prominent Dark Matter candidate to photons. To scan a sizeable axion Dark Matter parameter space, the cavities that make up the haloscope need to be tuned efficiently. [...]

Status and Perspectives for FCC-ee Detector Background Studies / Ciarma, Andrea (Frascati) ; Boscolo, Manuela (Frascati) ; Fransesini, Francesco (Frascati) ; Raimondi, Pantaleo (CERN) ; Abramov, Andrey (SLAC) ; Andrè, Kevin (SLAC) ; Hofer, Michael (SLAC)
The Future Circular Collider electron-positron (FCC-ee) is a proposed high-energy lepton collider that aims to reach unprecedented precision in the measurements of fundamental particles. Several beam related processes produce particles in the Machine-Detector Interface (MDI) region, which can adversely affect the measurements’ accuracy. [...]

Searches for LF/LN violation and hidden sectors in kaon decays at the NA62 experiment / Panichi, Ilaria (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) /NA62 Collaboration
Rare kaon decays are among the most sensitive probes of both heavy and light physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) thanks to the high precision of the SM predictions, the availability of very large datasets and the relatively simple decay topologies. NA62 is the CERN multi-purpose fixed-target kaon decay experiment, carring out a broad rare decay and hidden sector physics program. [...]

Simulation of Plasmonic Effects in Nanostructured Copper Surfaces for Field-assisted Photoemission / Groussin, B (CERN) ; Martinez Calderon, M (CERN) ; Marsh, B (CERN) ; Granados, E (CERN)
We propose a simulation model of the field enhancement and quantum efficiency (QE) increase of metallic surfaces as a result of a surface nanostructuring. In the framework of photoinjector facilities for electron accelerators at CERN, achieving optimal nanostructuring parameters may become a significant asset. [...]
